The Time Patrol Times Issue #1

Heyo! This is Shyruni from the Time Patrol Times giving you the latest up to date news on the various goings on of the DBO world! We've got a fair bit to talk about today, so let's get to it!

First of all, DING DONG THE WITCH IS DEAD...well, kind of. As many of you are aware, the rather infamous Dragon Ball Online Global recently started shutting down for good after years of sketchy business practice, stolen code, and being run by some of the worst human beings on planet Earth. After coasting for over four years thanks to lacking any sort of real competition, players have finally gotten sick of their shit and have begun to move on, and now the servers are finally coming to a close...kind of.

You see...while Daneos the little shit is supposedly gone, rumors having been going around that some people are trying to take over the project in order to keep it going for some strange reason. While I personally have no idea why anyone would try to revive this long-dead horse, there still seems to be a little bit of fire going on within the DBOG fandom.

Speaking of fire, Dragon Ball Online Universe Revelations (that never gets any easier to say) is still the most hot DBO project around and is just as chaotic as an actual house fire. Filled with new ideas, a lack of solid leadership, and a fanbase drooling over the prospect of being able to play DBO again, it remains the main project people have their eyes on. It's still in early stages but has remained fairly direct with its constant updates and fairly open devs and thus has gained the largest following even if the major devs lack much experience with the original game. Will their new and inspired ideas bring them to the top, or will it cause them to come crashing down? Only time will tell.

Next up is the brand new lesser known project known as Dragon Ball Online Crisis, which just showed up a month or two ago. While a new server is always welcome, this one is...not particularly impressive. Its website is barely functional if functional at all, it's game has been reported to be a buggy mess, and there does not seem to be anything inspiring about the project other than simply existing as another DBO. Perhaps it would have had a larger impact in an earlier stage, but at this first wave of DBOgeddon it is far from the most impressive.

That's all we have for now. Remember that this is still the first wave of DBOgeddon. Our sources are aware of at least some DBO projects that are not yet public and there are likely more that are not yet in development or also remain secret! Dragon Ball Online has a strange yet devoted fandom, and it's likely we will have more news soon. Until next Time Patrol Time!
